Description	:	TOBIASSEN, OTTILIE "TILLIE" — Mrs. John (Ottilie) Tobiassen was born October 17, 1893, to August Muchow and his wife Gesine, at Blue Hill, Neb. She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church at Blue Hill. On August 16, 1931, she was united in marriage to John Tobiassen of Geneva. Read More	TOBIASSEN, OTTILIE "TILLIE" — Mrs. John (Ottilie) Tobiassen was born October 17, 1893, to August Muchow and his wife Gesine, at Blue Hill, Neb. She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church at Blue Hill. On August 16, 1931, she was united in marriage to John Tobiassen of Geneva. There were no children from this union. “Tillie” lived with her husband on the Tobiassen home place four and one-half miles west of Geneva until the time of her death. Until about five years ago she enjoyed good health, but since then had gradually failed until at the end, she required a great deal of care. This care was lovingly rendered by her husband, John. In her “healthful” days, her acquaintances remembered her as a dutiful wife and faithful Christian. She passed away on Sunday, September 17. Christian burial was given from the Grace Lutheran church in Geneva on Wednesday, September 20, at 2 p.m. The service was conducted by Pastor James Lillo, with Mrs. Bill Heyen serving as organist. The pallbearers were: Kenneth Boyes, Harold Everts, Marvin Munchow, Rupert Naber, Rex Philippi and Fred Schaldecker. The interment was in the Geneva cemetery. Following the funeral the ladies of Grace served a lunch in the church basement. “Tillie”, who had reached the age of 84 years, 11 months, was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her husband, John of Geneva; three brothers, Paul of Marysville, Kas.; Walter of Hays, Kas.; and Ed of Otis, Col; by two sisters, Eda Jones of Buffalo, Mo., and Mrs. Adeline Boyes of Fairmont, and by many nieces and nephews. Until about five years ago, Tillie had been an active and faithful member of Grace Lutheran church. (Source: The Nebraska Signal, 28 September 1978)
