Description	:	BOYES, ADELINE GESINE FRIEDA—Adeline Gesine Frieda Boyes was born to August Muchow and Gesine Lammers Muchow on October 4, 1897, on a farm at Blue Hill, and passed away on December 19, 1982, at the Fillmore County hospital, Geneva, at the age of 85. She was one of 16 children in the Muchow family. Adeline was baptized on October 31, 1897, by Pastor Shubkegel in Trinity Lutheran church in Blue Hill and confirmed in the same church on March 31, 1912. She attended a Christian day school and Plum Valley public school from grades one through eighth. She lived on a farm until she left Webster county to come to Fillmore county in 1916. She worked in the Smith Laundry in Geneva. On January 29, 1918, she was married to Thomas W. Boyes by Pastor Wietzke in the parsonage in Grafton, and to them four sons, Wayne, Kenneth, LeRoy, and Charles; and two daughters, Helen and Lola were born. They lived on farms in the Shickley and Fairmont areas. After the death of her husband on July 29, 1952, Adeline moved to Sutton, where she worked in a café for 22 years. Because of ill health, at age 79 years, she quit work to move to Fairview Apartments in Fairmont. Her husband, two infant sons, two granddaughters, a grandson, her parents, six brothers, five sisters, a son-in-law, and other relatives preceded her in death. She is survived by sons, Kenneth and his wife, Elaine, of Geneva; Charles and wife, Nadine of Syracuse; daughters Helen Sorgenfrei of Sutton, and Lola Manthei and husband, Gerald, of Fairmont; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brothers, Edward Muchow and wife, Margaret of Otis, Co., Walter Machow of Hays Ks., and Paul Muchow and wife, Gladys, of buffalo, Mo.; brother-in-law, J. W. Tobiassen of Geneva; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Adeline was an active member of Lutheran churches during her lifetime. She was the only remaining charter member of the Grace Lutheran church in Geneva. Funeral services were held in Grace Lutheran church, Geneva, on Wednesday, December 22, with interment in the Geneva cemetery, beside her husband.
