Description	:	OTTO VER MEER Mr. Otto Ver Meer, age 78, passed away at his home on North Main St., Pella, Tuesday evening, October 29 at 11:45 PM following a lingering illness. He was the son of Antonia and Alida Ver Meer, born August 19, 1879, on a farm East of Pella. May 29th, 1912 he was United in marriage to Dena Stadt of Grand Rapids Michigan in the family home was established on various farms in Mahaska County. Read More	OTTO VER MEER Mr. Otto Ver Meer, age 78, passed away at his home on North Main St., Pella, Tuesday evening, October 29 at 11:45 PM following a lingering illness. He was the son of Antonia and Alida Ver Meer, born August 19, 1879, on a farm East of Pella. May 29th, 1912 he was United in marriage to Dena Stadt of Grand Rapids Michigan in the family home was established on various farms in Mahaska County. Mr. and Mrs. Ver Meer retired some 15 years ago and came to Pella to make their home. Born to this union were one son, Anthony of Leighton and one daughter, Mrs. Henrietta Williams of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Mr. Ver Meer made confession of faith in the Christian reformed church of which he was a faithful member. Surviving his passing are, his wife, two children, four grandchildren, and three brothers, William, Gerrit and Cornelius all of Pella. He was proceeded in death by his parents and four brothers. Funeral services were conducted Friday, November 1, 1957, 1 PM, at the Garden Chapel funeral home, and at 1:30 PM at the First Christian Reformed church. The Rev. P.Y. De Jong officiating. Interment was made in Black Oak cemetery. Psalm 42:1 was rendered by the congregation, with Mrs. Gysbert Ver Meer at the organ. Serving as casket bearers were, Dick T. Ver Meer, J.A. Ver Meer, Gysbert Ver Meer, Tunis Ver Meer, and Clarence Ver Meer. Caring for the flowers were, Mrs. Gerrit De Swarte and James De Penning. (From THE PELLA CHRONICLE, Nov. 7, 1957 )
