Description	:	Gerrit A Ver Meer 1884-1965 Death came to a longtime Pella resident and retired farmer on Friday, March 5, 1965. Gerrit A., son of Antonie and Aaltje De Bruin Ver Meer, was born on a farm 3 12 miles east of Pella, August 29, 1884. On March the 6th, 1913 he was united in marriage with Miss Anna Blom at Pella. Read More	Gerrit A Ver Meer 1884-1965 Death came to a longtime Pella resident and retired farmer on Friday, March 5, 1965. Gerrit A., son of Antonie and Aaltje De Bruin Ver Meer, was born on a farm 3 12 miles east of Pella, August 29, 1884. On March the 6th, 1913 he was united in marriage with Miss Anna Blom at Pella. To this union two children were born- Tunis G. (Tudor) now farming where his father formerly farmed, east of Pella, and Ella, now Mrs. Nick Menninga of rural Pella. Mr. and Mrs. Ver Meer lived on a farm east of Pella until establishing residence in Pella in 1941. Mrs. Ver Meer passed away Dec 2, 1949 at the age of 59 years and Gerrit was 80 years of age when he died Friday at the Pella Community Hospital, he was a lifelong, faithful member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella. Surviving are his two children and their wife and husband: 7 grandchildren and one brother, C.A. (Neal) of Pella. Preceding him in death beside his wife, Anna, was a greatgrand- child and 6 brothers: Brant, Jacob, Tunis, William, Otto and John Ver Meer. Funeral services for Mr. Ver Meer were held on Monday, March 8, 1965 from the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella. Rev John H. Piersma officiated with interment in the Black Oak Twp. Cemetery. The family met in the church basement prior to the church services with Van Dyk-Duvcn Funeral Home in chanrge of arrangements Serving as casket bearers were nephews.
