Description	:	Funeral services for O.W. Crandall, a longtime Winnetoon resident and business man, were held Tuesday of this week at the Creighton Methodist Church with the Rev. Gordon Jensen, pastor of the Congregational-Baptist Church officiating. Mr. Crandall, 75, passed away December 14 in Seward at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thelma Wilson. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wallace Sufficool, Floyd Weaver, Erwin McDowell, Dan Kelley, Harold Jensen and Fred Zobel. Owen Willis Crandall was born Dec. 3, 1882, at Bremen, Illinois. He came with his parents in October, 1884, and resided in Knox county all of his life until he retired on Oct. 1, 1956, when he and his wife moved from Winnetoon to Seward to reside with their daughter, Thelma Wilson. He was married Jan. 29, 1909 at Creighton to Vera Sufficool. To this union two children were born. One daughter, Eva Genelle, preceded him in death. He owned and operated a grocery store for 20 years in Winnetoon. Later he became manager of the Winnetoon Co-operative Credit Assn., a position he held for 20 years until he retired. He also served on the town board for 41 years. Mr. Crandall was a member of the First Methodist Church of Seward. He is survived by his wife, daughter and grandson, Donald Lee Wilson, all of Seward; three brothers and three sisters, Howard W. of Vancouver, WA, Mrs. J.E. Swisher of Omaha, Mrs. C.J. Merriam of Los Angeles, CA, Mrs. E.W. Barr of Portland, OR, Harry J of Lincoln and Mark Leonard of Fremont. ...Creighton News 19 Dec 1957
