Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Burial at Riverside Cemetery Patrick was born on August 20, 1916 in Pierre, SD to Michael Feeney and Essie (Skates) Feeney. He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Feeney in 2006, his parents and his brothers Michael, John and Andrew Feeney and his half-brothers, Kenneth and Wilbur David. He is survived by his children Michael (Marcia) Feeney and Patricia (David) Hagen. He is also survived by his grandchildren Shawn (Jerre) Feeney, Saxon Feeney, Erin O'Brien and Elizabeth (John) Pickerill; his great-grandchildren Taylor Rose Feeney, Joseph Pickerill and Carolyn Pickerill; and his brothers Charles (Shirley) Feeney and James (Linda) Feeney. His early years were spent on a ranch located in northeast Haakon County that was started by his father, Mike Feeney, who came from Ireland at the age of 8 years. He was the oldest of the six Feeney brothers who were all raised on the ranch. He graduated from Pierre High School in 1934. He then continued in ranching and ran the family ranch following the death of his father in 1936. In 1942 he married Yvonne Carlson of Phillip, SD Pat, along with John Maher, Sr., was instrumental in the formation of Basin League Baseball of South Dakota. Pat also managed and played with the Pierre Cowboys for several years. Pat spent all of his life in the cattle business, including a bull leasing program which he started and ran for over 50 years. He was also involved in many different ventures, including oil drilling in Wyoming, uranium mining in South Dakota, Wyoming and Utah and iron mining in Arizona. He invested in race tracks in North Sioux City, SD and also was one of the partners who started the Plains in Huron and the Plateau in Watertown, which included hotels, restaurants and bowling alleys. But his main love of business was in cattle and bull leasing which he continued until he was 90 years of age. One of the highlights of the business was a trip in 1972 to Ireland, where he visited his father's birthplace, England, France and Germany to investigate what was called "exotic cattle". He later raised many of the breeds that he saw on that trip. He was dedicated to his family and many friends, especially the "Good Old Boys". A special thank you to Dr. Holland and the dedicated staff of St. Mary's TCU. Memorials are preferred to St. Mary's or Countryside Hospice.
