Description	:	Paul and Sophia farmed northeast of Redfield until 1913 when they moved to Lisbon, ND, and farmed until 1923. When Sophia died, Paul and his eight children moved back to Redfield and farmed until 1943, when he retired. The Rev. Fr. Noel Power will officiate and burial will be at Lisbon, N.D. A wake service was scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday at the Coleman Funeral Home. Mr. Esser, who died Tuesday at the James Valley Nursing Home, was born Oct. 21, 1878, at Cassville, Wisc., and later lived in Erling, Iowa. In 1904 he married Sophie Ruschenberg here. He resided in North Dakota from 1913 to 1923. Surviving are five sons, Matt and Theodore of Redfield; Zeno of Aberdeen, Oscar of Yankton and Edmund, Billings, Mont.; two daughters, Mrs. George (Loretta) Mullenberg, Zell, and Mrs. Howard (Monica) Ricklik, Gardena, Calif.; 27 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. His wife, two sons and a daughter preceded Mr. Esser in death. They also had a son Joseph who was born 10 Sep 1920 and died 31 Mar 1921 and a daugthter Agnes who was born and died in 1922.
