Description	:	Residents of Cylinder and Palo Alto County were shocked and saddened by the unexpected death of Paul F. Freeman, 60, Cylinder, last Wednesday evening. Mr. Freeman was helping in the Cylinder Lions food stand at the Palo Alto County Fair when he was stricken. He died a short time later at Palo Alto County Hospital. Paul Franklin Freeman was born Oct. 15, 1915, in Cylinder, the son of George A. and Hannah (Moore) Freeman. He lived his entire life in Cylinder and for the past 41 years had been with Cylinder State Bank where he was President. For 25 years he was a member of the Cylinder and Emmetsburg School Boards. He has served as Trustee and deacon of United Church of Christ. He was a member of the Cylinder Lions Club and had been treasurer for Emmetsburg Community Schools. He was also a member of Palo Alto County Farmers Mutual Insurance. Paul Freeman married Wilda Thomson March 28, 1936 in Emmetsburg. They had four children including Paul W. Freeman of Cylinder, Mrs. Roger (Donna) Jensen of Eldora, Mrs. Arnold (Marge) Cody of Phoenix, Ariz., and Robert F. Freeman of Cylinder. He is survived by all of his children and his wife, Wilda. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. George A. Freeman of Lakeside Lutheran Home, one brother, George D. Freeman of Emmetsburg and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Stonebreaker of Buffalo Center. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Lucille Thompson. Services were held Saturday morning from United Church of Christ with Rev. Lawrence Johnson officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Casketbearers were Russell Kuhn, Richard Thompson, William Darling, Selmer Nelson, Dannie Fogarty and Robert Banwart. Honorary pallbearers were William Stillman, William Juhl, Odne Stokka, Vic Bargman, Russell Johnson, Harlan Soper, George Thatcher, Joy Jacobson, Eugene Sweeney and Lester Johnson.
