Description	:	Paul Otto Reuther was born on 11th of May 1879, son of Johann Gottlieb and Martha Agusta Amila (Mueller, Viehueger) Reuther in Helbersdorf by Chemnitz in Saxony, Germany. The same year he was baptized his folks moved to Oberhermersdorf by Chemnitz where he lived from the sixth to the fourteenth year of his birthday. His father, Johann Gottlieb, died April 15, 1890, and his stepsister, Selma Augusta Viehweger died October 15, 1889. Read More	Paul Otto Reuther was born on 11th of May 1879, son of Johann Gottlieb and Martha Agusta Amila (Mueller, Viehueger) Reuther in Helbersdorf by Chemnitz in Saxony, Germany. The same year he was baptized his folks moved to Oberhermersdorf by Chemnitz where he lived from the sixth to the fourteenth year of his birthday. His father, Johann Gottlieb, died April 15, 1890, and his stepsister, Selma Augusta Viehweger died October 15, 1889. In 1896, Paul and his mother moved to Gablenc by Chemnitz, where they lived until February 1902. While in Germany, Paul met and fell in love with Louise Schultz. They were engaged to be married but Paul wanted to come to America and Louise wanted to stay in Germany near her family. The engagement was called off but a son, William, was born out of this love. In February 1902, Paul left Germany by way of ship, with his mother. In the summer of 1902, they took a homestead about 8 miles south of Center, North Dakota in Oliver County. Paul married Martha Olga Otilla Hoger on November 8, 1913 in Rosebud, North Dakota. Martha was the daughter of Karl and Anna (Hoesel) Hoger, born July 29, 1894. They had nine children: Walter, Erwin, Arno, Irma, Otto, Herbert, Wilma, Hella and Shirley. They lived on the farm for 43 years before moving into New Salem. He died in the Bismarck Hospital of cancer of the prostrate.
