Morrill Ray P. Morrill (sic), 76, 504 South B St., died at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 1991, at Jefferson County Hospital. The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is open at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Iowa Heart Association and to the family. Morrill was born Nov. 29, 1914, at Peru (sic. Old Peru, Madison county, Iowa ???), the son of Oliver W. and Annie St. Clair Morrill. He grew up in Fairfield and graduated from Fairfield High School. He married Dorothy Brock on Dec. 30, 1939, in Fairfield. A tool and die maker at Dexter Co. for 41 years, he was superintendent of the tool room before his retirement. He was a member of First Christian Church, active in the church choir, served as deacon and was a former church treasurer and Sunday school superintendent. He was a charter member of Jefferson County Men's Chorus and Barbershop Quartet, a member of the Senior Citizens Chorus and participated in the Messiah presented by First United Methodist Church. He formerly was active in the local softball team. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Ruth Morrill of Elizabeth, N.J.; a brother, Paul of Walla Walla, Wash.; two sisters, Marie Spiker of San Diego, and May Bonnett of Ogden, Utah. His parents and two sisters, Arminta McDonald and Ruth Harrison, preceded him in death.
