Hancock, who lived at 119 [1119] Market, died Friday evening in St. Mary's hospital. Mr. Hancock was born in Neosho Rapids August 24, 1876, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Hancock. He was married to Clara Shawver in Burlington August 24, 1898, and they moved to Emporia in 1925. He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Ethel Schneider and Mrs. Elizabeth Thorne, Burlington; Mrs. Estelle Arnold, West Sixth; Mrs. Letha Watkins, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Lorena Blackmer, Riverside, Calif., and Ruby Peak, 1 Peyton; and three sisters, Mrs. Estella Tucker, Deming, Wash.; Mrs. Lula Hughes, Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Viola Slead, Oklahoma City, Okla. One son, Carl, was killed in action in World War II in July , 1944, and an infant daughter, Vera Lee, preceded him in death in 1910. He was a member of the Baptist church of Neosho Rapids, the Modern Woodmen's lodge, and American War Dads. Funeral services for Perley F. Hancock, who lived at 1119 Merchant and who lived at 1119 Market and who died Friday evening in St. Mary's hospital, will be held Wednesday afternoon at the Roberts-Blue chapel at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Forrest J. Reynolds, pastor of the Grace Methodist church, and the Rev. J.C. Brogan, former pastor, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Maplewood cemetery.
