Perry Ellsworth Spafford, second son of Francis and Elvaro Spafford, was born in Republic county (sic), Kansas, on October 14, 1879, and died in the St. Joseph hospital at Concordia, Kan., March 14, 1946, aged 66 years and 5 months. Most of his life was spent in Republic County, Kansas, and at Chester, Neb., and he resided at Beaver City, Neb., between the years 1906 to 1911/ He was preceded in death by his brother, Elmer in 1916, his father in 1922 and his mother in 1938. Since that lime he has lived alone at his home in Chester, Neb. He was taken to the hospital March 7, suffering a stroke March 8 which proved fatal. He leaves to mourn his passing, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Fanny Spafford of Ft. Morgan, Col.; three nephews, Andrew Spafford of Sterling, Col.; Lloyd and Edgar Spafford of Ft. Morgan, Col.; nieces, Mrs. Goldie Doty of Ft. Morgan, Col., and Mrs. Sylvia Pederson of Savage, Mont.; also other relatives and a host of friends. Perry was always a faithful friend and neighbor. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, March 17, in the Methodist church with the Rev. Vern Chapman officiating. Burial was in the Chester cemetery (sic).
