OBITUARY Frances Udella Spafford Frances Udella Blanchard was born November 16th, 1857, at Lafayette, Wisconsin, and departed this life at her home in Chester, Nebr., October 15th, 1938, aged 80 years, 10 months and 29 days. She had been a semi-invalid for several years. Her devoted son, Perry, and neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Aupperle, gave her loving and constant care. Perry and Mrs. Nelson were with her at the time of her passing. As a girl, she came to Kansas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Blanchard, in 1871, and was the last member of this family. She was united in marriage to Elvaro Spafford, December 21, 1875. To this union two children were born, Elmer Sylvester and Perry Ellsworth. Her husband and son, Elmer, preceeded (sic) her in death. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church since Febr. 19, 1895, and a member of the Rebecca (sic) Lodge for many years. She leaves to mourn her passing; her son Perry, and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Fannie Spafford, of Fort Morgan, Colo.; and six grandchildren, to whom she was very devoted: Mrs. Stella Pedersen, Steenesburg, Colo.; Andrew Spafford, Sterling, Colo.; Mrs. Goldia Doty, and Loyd and Edgar Spafford, all of Fort Morgan, Colo.; and Miss Sylvia Spafford, of Los Angeles, Calif.; fourteen great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends. The grandchildren were all in attendance at the funeral services with the exception of Miss Sylvia Spafford, together with Paul Pedersen and Mrs. Andrew Spafford.
