Along towards the last he suffered a great deal. Mr. Jennings was born at Lafayette, Indiana, Oct. 11, 1844. He was married to Martha J. Brown in Tippecanoe county, Indiana, Oct. 22, 1866. He enlisted in Co. D., 10th Indiana Infantry Sept. 6, 1861. He was in the 14th army corps of the Cumberland, passing through Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi and Georgia.... Along towards the last he suffered a great deal. Mr. Jennings was born at Lafayette, Indiana, Oct. 11, 1844. He was married to Martha J. Brown in Tippecanoe county, Indiana, Oct. 22, 1866. He enlisted in Co. D., 10th Indiana Infantry Sept. 6, 1861. He was in the 14th army corps of the Cumberland, passing through Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi and Georgia. He was in the battle of Mill Springs, the siege of Chattanooga, with Gen. Sherman at Atlanta, and other places. He was mustered out May 25, 1863, becoming a member of the G.A.R. Post 362. He united with the church in 1871 and was an active Christian worker until his health broke down last October. He leaves a wife, three children and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Christian church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Hibbs. The Knights of Pythias and masons each attended in a body and escorted the remains to the cemetery, where interment was made with Masonic service. The deceased was a member of both orders. Mr. Jennings was a man of the highest integrity, unscrupulously honest in all his dealings and exemplary in his habits. He was a true example for men in all walks of life.
