He was a son of the late William Parker, a Civil War veteran, who lived in Le Mars many years, after retiring from farming in the Adaville vicinity. Peter Parker was born near Hazel Green, Wis., October 14, 1872, and when a boy came here with his parents. Mr. Parker attended schools in the county and later followed the pursuit of farming. He was widely known in the western part of the county. He leaves to mourn his death his wife and children, his brother, William Parker, of Johnson township, Raleigh Parker, of Le Mars, and three sisters, Mrs. Annie Oakes and Mrs. Kate Moore, of Akron, and Mrs. John Butler, of Seney. A brother, Wenzel Parker,preceded him in death March 30, this year. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Christian church in Akron and interment made in Riverside cemetery adjoining the town.
