Read More	Son of John and Marie Cassideau Rowe ---------------------------------------------- Peter Thomas Rowe (Obituary) Peter Thomas Rowe, one of six children of John and Marie Cassideau Rowe, was born at Montreal, Canada, September 9, 1854, and died at his home in Loup City on December 4, 1945. He was baptised [sic] in the Roman Catholic Church, St. Hyacinth Parish in Montreal, and later confirmed in the same church. His early years were spent in Chicago working for the Erie railroad. After leaving Chicago, he lived in the middlewest [sic], following construction jobs in new towns ahead of the railroad developments, coming first to Grand Island and then to Loup City in 1886, to work on the old St. Elmo Hotel, moving on to Broken Bow and other new towns. On August 4, 1885, he was married at Mormontown, Iowa, to Elizabeth Florence Hutson of Redding, Iowa, and they came to Loup City to make their home in 1889. Mr. Rowe was first elected city clerk in 1906 and served continuously in public office until he retired from the office of justice of the peace in January, 1940. On May 16, 1900, Mr. Rowe became a member of Excelsior Lodge No. 166 of the Grand Jurisdiction of Nebraska, Independent Order of Odd Fellows and later served as noble grand. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; three sons, Ernest, Ervin and Ronald of Loup City; two daughters, Mrs. D. L. Willis of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Glenn Fletcher of Loup City; three grandsons, Richard Willis, USN, Portsmouth, Va., Dwight Willis, Jr., San Diego, Calif., and John Rowe of Loup City; one granddaughter, Mrs. E. J. Nickolaus of Los Angeles, Calif. Two sons, Clifton and Harold, preceded him in death. Funeral services were conducted from the home Thursday afternoon, December 6, at 2:30, with Rev. J. E. Harris in charge. Pallbearers, members of the Odd Fellow Lodge, were John Paulson, Wm. French, Guy Clipston, Andreas Thomsen, Chas. Beushausen and Earl Hancock.
