The marine is survived by his parents, four sisters and four brothers, one of whom is serving in the south Pacific. GAUGER DIED ON PELELIU The body of Marine Private First Class Warren Harris Gauger, killed in action Sept. 20, 1944, on Peleliu island, will arrive at Smith's funeral home Wednesday morning. Graveside committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Soldiers plot at Mountview cemetery. The American Legion will be in charge of military honors, and the Rev. J.M. Winter, Free Methodist pastor, will officiate. Private First Class Gauger, who died at the age of 24, was a son of Henry Gauger, 1018 Custer Avenue. He was born March 25, 1920, at Castlewood, S.D. The family moved to Billings on April 4, 1937, and Private Gauger attended Billings high school. Before entering services he drove a delivery truck for P.D.Q. transfer service, then operated by his brother, Marvin Gauger. He was a member of the Free Methodist church. He saw service with the marines in the Samoan islands, Australia, New Guinea, New Britain and the Palau islands, and was awarded the following ribbons and medals, American defense, victory medal, Asiatic-Pacific campaign ribbon and purple heart. Besides the father, four brothers and four sisters survive: Marvin Gauger of Joliet, Manley Gauger of 2814 Fourth avenue north, Wesley Gauger of 719 Miles avenue, George Gauger of the Lockwood community, Mrs. Jack Baleveu of Eldora, Iowa, Mrs. Arnold Christensen of Twin Brooks, S.D., Mrs. Carol Peterson of Grand avenue and Mrs. Leslie York of Pasadena, Cal. The Rev. J.M. Winter, Free Methodist pastor, officiated and military honors were conferred by Yellowstone post No. 4 of the American Legion. An American Legion firing squad was composed of Bud Hoffman, Howard Cunningham, Robert Albright and Russell Bertholf, Jr. Master Sergeant M.O. Terry was color bearer and Sergeants Harry Funk and Donald Spangler served as color guards. Commander was Master Sergeant E.W. O'Connor. Pallbearers were Marvin Schwartz, Robert O.
