Description	:	...Philip Lawler, a.k.a. "Father", served in the Civil War on the Union side with the Co. A, 146 IL Infantry. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1865 in Springfield, IL. He started working for the railroad laying tracks west. When the crew got to central Iowa they ran out of rails; while they were waiting for supplies Philip (and some other Irish immigrants) bought land around Ogden, Iowa, in Beaver Township.
