She was born Nov. 16, 1930, in Lawrence, the daughter of Charles Newton and Amy Agnes Joy Janeway. She attended Lawrence schools and graduated from Liberty Memorial High School. Mrs. Connett was a bookkeeper for Polk Oil Co., Ramada Standard, and Gateway Auto. She was a member of the Friends church, and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and spending time with family. She married John Charles Arthur Connett on May 21,1949, in Topeka. He died Nov. 14, 1984.... Janeway, Lubbock, Tex.; two granddaughters, Casey Wallace and Kristen Tedrow; and five grandsons, John C. Connett, Dan W. Connett, and Luke, Evan, and Elliott Read.
