| Description | : | Pleasant Betterton was the son of Joshua and Mary West Betterton. Pleasant married Hannah A. Jackson on April 22, 1858 in Clinton County, Ohio. Pleasant was worked for the M&C Railroad for several years and then returned to farming. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Clark Township. In 1870, he seved as Land Assessor. He was appointed a Deputy U.S. Marshal by President Lincoln in 1861.
