Description	:	Jonathan Wise, a resident of this vicinity for fifty-six years, died Monday at 7:50 at the home of his son, O. V. Wise of West Third Street, his death resulting from old age complications. He was born in Monroe County, Ohio, on February 12, 1839, and was eighty years old at the time of his death. Wise of West Third Street, his death resulting from old age complications. He was born in Monroe County, Ohio, on February 12, 1839, and was eighty years old at the time of his death. He was married to Sarah E. Rake in Ohio on December 15, 1866 and to them five children were born, one of who died in infancy. Those surviving are W. D. Wise of Ames, Oren V. Wise, Mrs. Joe Scott and Mrs. W. Cozad of Villisca, all of whom were with their father at the time of his death. Mr. Wise accompanied by his wife, Sarah, moved from Ohio in the spring of 1868, coming to St. Joseph, Missouri by railroad and from there to Hawleyville. They came form there to the Orme settlement southeast of Villisca on which he reared his family and lived for many years. His wife died in June 1878 and he retired from the farm and moved to Villisca to make his home. In April 1909 he was married to Harriet Wright who survives him. Mr. Wise was a member of the Methodist Church, which organized and he joined when he was fourteen ears of age. His funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Methodist Church with Rev. L. B. Carpenter in charge. OH 27th Infantry He was discharged for wounds 02-27-1865 in Columbus, Ohio He was listed as: Wounded 7/4/1864 Ruff's Mills, GA b. 02-12-1839 in Monroe County, Ohio d. 03-02-1925 in Villisca, Iowa
