Description	:	She married George Weiford on 29 October 1865 in Davis co., Iowa. She was the first white child born in Davis co., Iowa. Rachel Ann Weiford nee Lang, died at her home in Davis county, Iowa, February 15, 1896, after a long and very severe sickness of eleven weeks. She was confined to her bed nine weeks. She bore all her suffering very patiently and talked about the final change as one would going to see some very near friend. She was the first white child born in Davis co., Iowa. Rachel Ann Weiford nee Lang, died at her home in Davis county, Iowa, February 15, 1896, after a long and very severe sickness of eleven weeks. She was confined to her bed nine weeks. She bore all her suffering very patiently and talked about the final change as one would going to see some very near friend. There was no sting in the thought of death to her, she said one day "Mother is it you keeping me from Jesus?" She died surrounded by a host of friends and none knew her but to love her. She was converted about the age of 17 and joined the church soon after. She was married to Geo. W. Weiford in 1865, just after he came out of the service. They were always happy in each others love. She was a true wife and a good mother, to her niece that they took to raise in early babyhood. I can say beyond doubt that she has gone to join the church triumphant which is without fault before the throne of God. She was 52 years, 6 months and 10 days old. Brother Weiford and Bessie, their niece, have the sympathy of a host of friends. The funeral services were conducted at the home by the writer. Text, her own choosing, Rev. 22:17 "Asleep in Jesus!
