RALPH FARWELL Ralph Farwell, 56, died unexpectedly Friday morning at his home east of DuBois, from a heart attack. He was found dead in bed. Mr. Farwell was born Sept. 1, 1888, at Preemption, Ill., and moved when a small boy to duBois with his parents. He graduated from the Pawnee academy, Pawnee City, in 1908, and March 24, 1915, he was married to Miss Clara Aikman of Rulo. Following their marriage the couple moved to the farm near Humboldt, where they since have resided. Mr. Farwell was a member of the Knights of Pythias lodge. Surviving are his widow, one daughter, Mrs. John William Eis, Humboldt; three sons, S/Sgt. John F. Farwell, who now is in Germany; Ralph,jr., at home; and Allen Farwell, seaman first class, San Francisco; two brothers, L. C. and A. C. Farwell, one sister, Miss Leota Farwell, and his father, H. S. Farwell, all of DuBois. Also surviving are four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the DuBois Methodist church. HUMBOLDT STANDARD (Humboldt, Nebraska)- Thursday, August 30, 1945- Page 8. Allen Farwell, S 1/c of the U. S. Navy arrived in Kansas City, Mo. Saturday, having came in response to a message that his father, Ralph Farwell,Sr. had passed away Friday morning. He had been on duty in the South Pacific and had just came to a western port when he received the message. He came by plane from San Diego, Calif. He left Monday morning to return to his work and was unable to remain for the funeral services which were held at the Methodist Church at DuBois, Tuesday afternoon. He was met in Kansas City and accompanied back there by his brother, Ralph Farwell,jr. and Misses Marilyn Wixon and Donna Wissler.
