Description	:	RATIO STRAIN Ratio Strain, son of Andrew and Elizabeth Rains Strain, was born on a farm west of Nodaway on February 3, 1883 and passed away on July 29, 1947 at the age of 64 years. After growing to manhood in this vicinity, he moved to Colorado where he took up land and was engaged in farming for several years. While there he was united in marriage on April 6, 1911 to Dora L. Read More	RATIO STRAIN Ratio Strain, son of Andrew and Elizabeth Rains Strain, was born on a farm west of Nodaway on February 3, 1883 and passed away on July 29, 1947 at the age of 64 years. After growing to manhood in this vicinity, he moved to Colorado where he took up land and was engaged in farming for several years. While there he was united in marriage on April 6, 1911 to Dora L. Blystone of Sterling, Colorado. To this union seven children were born, two of whom died in infancy. Surviving him are his wife, four sons and one daughter, who are, Laurence Strain of Yakima, Washington, Neil and Clarence and Wilma of this vicinity. He also leaves one grandson, Robert Miller, who with is mother has made his home with his grandparents. Besides his immediate family he leaves one brother, Leonard Strain of Pittsburg, California, one niece, Mrs. Brock Williams of Villisca and a nephew, Donald Strain of Pittsburg, California. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Sutphen Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. C. M. Rowe, pastor of the Methodist Church in Nodaway. The singing was by Cecil Weaver, accompanied by Mrs. Frances Wheeler, and those in charge of flowers were Mrs. Lester Watt and Mrs. Harold Shires. The pall bearers were Harold Shires, Clarence Penwell, Chas. Woods, Joe Scanlon, Lester Watt, and Casey Johnson. Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery.
