Stover, 65, Dies Wednesday of Heart Attack Will Hold Funeral Saturday for Berrien Township Man; Resident Of This Area All His Life Ray P. Stover, 65, well known Berrien Township farmer, died at his home on the Pokagon Road at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday of a heart attack, following several weeks of poor health. He was born in Royalton Township March 17, 1884, a son of John and Sarah Potner Stover. He was married to Ethel Miars on May 5, 1924, and they had spent their entire married life at the present residence. Mrs. Stover was a member of the Berrien Center Community Church for many years, of Western Star Lodge, F & A.M., the Odd Fellows and Modern Woodmen, and the county Farm Bureau. He was employed for a number of years as salesman for the Stover Equipment Company at Arden, and had been engaged in farming since 1941. Besides his wife he leaves two brothers, Clarence of Berrien Springs and Edgar of Arden; a sister, Mrs. Edith Warsco of Oronoko Township, and several nephews and nieces. There will be a prayer service at the home at 2 p.m. Saturday, followed by the funeral at the Berrien Center church at 2:30, Rev. A. O. Becker of Berrien Springs will officiate, assisted by Rev. James Phenicie of the Berrien Center church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the Griner funeral home until Friday morning when the body will be removed to the residence, and at the residence until time for the service.
