Mrs. Mitts was married to her first husband, Joseph Keeseker, in Ohio in the year 1844. After nine years Mr. Keeseker died in 1853, leaving his wife and five children to mourn their loss. Mrs. Mitts was married to her second husband about the year 1858 of which union Mrs. Dora McBeth of Nebraska is the only surviving child.
