He was raised on the family farm near Defiance, and graduated from high school there. He received a BA degree from Westmar College in La Mars in 1939, and graduated from the Evangelical School of Theology in Naperville, IL in 1942. Glenn Hulsebus, 85 June 29, 1915- Aug. 24, 2000 GRINNELL - Rev. Glenn H. Hulsebus, 85, was born June 29, 1915, in Buck Grove, to William and Mary Beckman Hulsebus. He was raised on the family farm near Defiance, and graduated from high school there. He received a BA degree from Westmar College in La Mars in 1939, and graduated from the Evangelical School of Theology in Naperville, IL in 1942. In 1973, he was granted a master's degree from Sacred Theology in Naperville. June 21, 1942, he married Helen Grosenbach in Peoria, IL. He served from 1942 to 1998 as a minister in Presbyterian Churches in Red Oak, Maxwell, Schaller, Brooklyn, Fort Dodge and Ewart, Iowa. He was a member of the Rotary and Lions Clubs. He received the Governor's Volunteer Award In 1992 and was Stated Cieri of North Central Presbytery; delegate to National Presbyterian meetings; Chairman of the Hawkeye Valley Council on Aging, delegate to Older Iowans Legislature, Chairman of the governing board of Second Mlle, arid a member of Iha board of directors of the Iowa Children and Family Services. He died Aug. 24, 2000, at the Mayflower Home in Grinnell of complications due to Alzheimer's Disease at age 85. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Florence; and two brothers, Carl and Wesley. Survivors Include his wife, Helen Hulsebus of Grinnell; three daughters, Sharon Richman of Indianola; Kathleen Ramsey of Montezuma; JoAnn Thompson of Ames; one son, Steven Hulsebus of Fort Dodge; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, David Hulsebus of Defiance; and one sister, Margaret Hulsebus of Denison. A memorial service was held Aug. 27, 2000, at the First Presbyterian Church in Montezuma, with Dr. George M. Salnave, pastor of the church, officiating. A private family burial was held in the Union Township Cemetery at Defiance
