York Lodge No. 563 F&AM services at Columbus, O., Sunset Cemetery Thursday, 1:30 p. m. The Cincinnati Post February 17, 1959 Services for the Rev. Joseph Gibson Laughlin, 83, who died Monday in Bethesda Hospital, will be held at 8:30 p. m. Wednesday in Oakley Methodist Church, where he was pastor from 1932 to 1936. Mr. Laughlin, who had lived at 2911 Robertson avenue, Oakley, since his retirement in 1953, had been in failing health for many months. Born in Mechanicsville, O., he was educated at Ohio Wesleyan University and ordained in 1902. His 46 years as a minister included pastorates in Wellston, Breman, Ft. Jefferson and Lima, O., and eight years as secretary of the Ohio Methodist Conference. Mr. Laughlin was a Mason for 55 years and a life member of the Oakley Methodist Men. He formerly was active in the Boy Scouts and many church organizations. He leaves his wife Anna; two sons, Lawrence and Raymond; a stepson, William Mueller; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The Thomas Funeral Home, Madisonville, is in charge. The Cincinnati Post and Times Star February 17, 1959 Services for the Rev. Joseph Gibson Laughlin, pastor of Oakley Methodist Church from 1932 to 1936, will be held at 8:30 p. m. today at the church. Mr. Laughlin, who had lived at 2911 Robertson Ave. since his retirement, died Monday in Bethesda Hospital. He was 83. Mr. Laughlin was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, a former secretary of the Ohio Methodist Conference, a member of the Oakley Methodist Men and of the Masonic Order. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Anna Laughlin; two sons, Lawrence and Raymond Laughlin; a stepson, William Mueller; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. The Thomas funeral home, Madisonville, is in charge of arrangements. The Cincinnati Enquirer February 18, 1959
