Description	:	Richard Donald Campbell, 83, of Lyndhurst, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation in Staunton. Mr. Campbell was born on May 16, 1929, in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Ruffner Lyle and Ella (Cash) Campbell. He worked in maintenance for DuPont for 27 years prior to his retirement. Mr. Campbell was born on May 16, 1929, in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Ruffner Lyle and Ella (Cash) Campbell. He worked in maintenance for DuPont for 27 years prior to his retirement. He loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Campbell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. On January 31, 1952, he married the former Frances Blackwell who survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Campbell is survived by three sons, Donald "Donnie" Campbell and wife, Connie, of Lyndhurst, Ronnie Campbell and wife, Ellen, of Fairfield, Eddie Campbell and wife, Patty, of Hermitage; two daughters, Margaret Wood and husband, Daniel, of Lyndhurst, and Faye Campbell and grandson, Harold Campbell, of the home; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five nieces and nephews raised in the home, Brenda Patterson, Linda Hahn, Brad Bosserman, Jerry Bosserman and Shirley Bosserman; two additional children raised in the home, Anita Arehart and Connie Zimmerman; one brother, Malcolm Campbell of Hermitage; his beloved dog, "Angel"; and special friends, Mickey Bailey and Maynard Patterson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by four brothers, Curt Campbell, Ray Campbell, Tip Campbell and Abner Campbell; two sisters, Gladys Phillips and Lucy Groah; and a daughter- in-law, Katherine Hyden Campbell. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday October 8, 2012, at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church. There will be no formal visitation. Arrangements entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes. Published in The News Virginian on October 7, 2012 .
