Richard H. Ghaster, 62, of 1408 Lima Ave., was struck by a car as he was putting out barrels to close the right lane of the interstate near the Ohio 12 overhead. Dr. Byron F. Voorhees, Hancock County coroner, ruled the death accidental. He said Ghaster died of a skull fracture and lacerations to the brain. He was pronounced dead at 7:30 a.m. The Findlay Police Department said the driver was traveling north at about 45 m.p.h. in the restricted zone and told officers he applied his brakes when he saw Ghaster walk into his lane. Ghaster was a laborer with the Ohio Engineering Co., contractors on the improvement project to upgrade the section of I-75. He was born March 9,1909, in Mount Blanchard, the son of George and Ida Ghaster. He married Beatrice and later Sue. She survives with a daughter. He is survived by four sisters and three brothers. There is one grandchild. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God. Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Coldren Funeral Home, the Rev. Carlos Dyer officiating. Burial will be in Evansport Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Submitted by Linda (#46854591)
