Description	:	Rita Mae (Weaver) Severing, age 72, of Lancaster, went home to see her Lord on July 22, 2017, with her loving family by her side at Pickering House. Rita had several illnesses during her adult life, and battled cancer for the last eight years. She was born in Lancaster on July 10, 1945 to Virgil O. and Gladys S. (Fox) Weaver. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1963. Read More	Rita Mae (Weaver) Severing, age 72, of Lancaster, went home to see her Lord on July 22, 2017, with her loving family by her side at Pickering House. Rita had several illnesses during her adult life, and battled cancer for the last eight years. She was born in Lancaster on July 10, 1945 to Virgil O. and Gladys S. (Fox) Weaver. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1963. She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law Vincent and Margaret Severing, brother Larry Dean Fox, his wife Delores Marie (Koker) Fox and their son Christopher Fox. Rita will be fondly remembered as a babysitter and a caregiver to many elderly ladies in the area. She was a Sunday school teacher, youth leader and church board member at Gloryland and Good Shepherd churches. She also started the Gentle Touches Ministry. She was also a member of the Olivedale Senior Center. Rita's wish was that her body be donated to the Ohio State University College of Medicine. Caring cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Church, 700 Spring St., Lancaster. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1:00 p.m. Pastors James Dexter and Karl Hartman will conduct the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FairHoPe Hospice, Pickering House or Good Shepherd Church in Rita's memory. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette on July 30, 2017.
