Read More	Robert Gerald Jessen June 15, 1926 – December 21, 2017 Confirmed in Christ on June 21, 1942. Robert Gerald Jessen entered in to Christ’s presence on Thursday, December 21, 2017, surrounded by family in his home. He was 91 years old. Born the first child of France and Catherine Jessen on June 2, 1926 on the farm near Kenmare, North Dakota. He was baptized on June 15, 1942 at Elmdale Lutheran Church in Niobe, ND. He grew up on the farm and completed an 8th grade education. He was the big brother to three sisters: Lorraine Estella, Janette Sylvia and Marilyn Ione, who still live in North Dakota. While on a vacation with family in Canada’s Kenosee Lake, he met and fell in love with Antonette Marko. They married on December 3, 1950 at Elmdale Lutheran Church. They lived on the family farm outside of Niobe, started their family and have five children from 1953-1959. They moved the family into Kenmare so that both could work and be closer to the children’s school. Robert worked maintenance jobs related to the missile sites. The family moved their home to Emerado, North Dakota so Robert could continue to work jobs related to Grand Forks Air Force Base. Then in 1967 moved the family and trailer to Des Moines, Washington and worked for Boeing until the big lay-offs in the late 1960’s. Robert worked as a greens keeper at Meridian Valley Country club and Golf Course from May 1969 until he retired. He enjoyed having an outdoor job and driving the tractor that pulled the mower. In his free time, he loved camping, Fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle. In retirement, Antonette encouraged Robert to build bird houses. Taking care of the large yard and fruit trees. He continued taking care of his yard, riding his lawn mower until in his late 80’s. With the help of family living near-by and daughter, Linda, caring for him, he wsa able to stay in his own home. He loved to listen to Country Music, enjoyed reading the Kenmare Newspaper, and eating apple pie and ice cream. Robert Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Antonette and parents, France and Catherine. Robert is survived by daughter Geraldine Schmidt and husband Jon, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren; his son Rodger and wife Marlene, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren; his daughter Sharon Jessen; his daughter Linda Dudley, three grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren; his daughter Candace Jessen.
