Description	:	Obituary: The funeral for Robert Rohde, 86, of Moorhead, Minn, formerly of Pettibone N.D., will be held Thursday, January 8, at 11 a.m. in the Eddy Funeral Chapel. Rev. Edwin Rosenthal will officiate. He died January 4, in the Veterans Hospital, Fargo, N.D.. Interment is in the Pettibone Cemetery and Eddy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Rohde was born June 14, 1894, in Clinton Township, Hillbrook County Minn., the son of Henrich and Rosa Rohde. He received his education in Rothsay, Minn., and came to the Pettibone area in September of 1916. In 1918 he enlisted in the U.S. Army at Steele, N. D., and was sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa, where he served in Company L350 Infantry and later in the 343 machine gun battalion. He was sent overseas to St. Mihiel: Meuseargonne, and was discharged from Camp Dodge Iowa on June 16, 1919, as a Private First Class. He returned to Pettibone where he started the first trucking service. He was married to Stella Johnson Tripp, on August 21, 1935 at Steele, N.D. He operated his business in Pettibone until he retired. Survivors include his wife: three sons, two step-daughters, and two step-sons, Sherwin Rohde of Albuquerque, N.M., Stanley Rohde, Mandan, Dale Rohde, Pettibone, Mrs. Herbert (Erlis) Otto, Fargo, Doris Gray, Ligonier, Ind., Marlin Tripp, Pettibone and Cyrus Tripp, Pettibone, N.D. Additional survivors include 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Hilda Paulson, Rockford, Ill., and Thressa Rilling living in Tesas.
