Deceased, who was in his 56th year, was born and raised in the Hockley vicinity and was the second son of Mrs. Cole and the late John Cole. He was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Hockley, and a strong Conservative. He was also a member and a Past Master of Hockley Black Preceptory. Left to mourn the loss of a kindly, loving husband is his widow, formerly Miss Ruth Hindman, of Niagara Falls, N. Y. Also surviving are his aged mother, five brothers, Emerson, Lawrence, Louis, Milford and Angus Cole, and two sisters, Mrs. Jos. Robbins, Hockley, and Mrs. John Sirr, Athlone. One sister, Mrs. Jack Fish, and one brother, James Vincent Cole, predeceased him. The funeral, which was under Orange auspices, was held from St. John's Anglican Church, Mono, on Thursday afternoon, April 27th, and was very largely attended, many being unable to gain admittance to the church. Rev. H. D. Cleverdon, of Beeton, conducted the service. The pallbearers were the five brothers and a cousin, Mr. Milford Cole. The flowerbearers were six nephews, Oscar Cole, Earl Cole, Russell Sirr, Ernest Cole, Ira Sirr and Chester Baxter. A large number of beautiful floral tributes bore mute testimony to the sympathy of friends and neighbors and to the esteem in which the late Mr. Cole was held. Interment was made in St. John's cemetery, 7th Line, Mono. Robert John was married October 1 1929 to widow Ruth Wilson (nee Hindman). Her burial location is unknown.
