Brother to Roy, Raymond, Oda, Doris (died as a child), Dale, Lyle (killed in a military plane crash at age 22), Lauren, Ola Mae, Dora Lee, Delbert, Joe Neil (died as an infant), Dorothy, Ava and an unnamed baby girl. Robert Kenneth Dykes, 66 4/22/1982 – Ogallala, Nebraska – Funeral services were held this morning for Robert Kenneth Dykes, 66, a retired Sand Hill rancher. He died unexpectedly Sunday, (Apr 18th) following a heart attack. He was born Dec 12, 1915 in Cherry County on a Kincade Ranch north of Whitman. He served in World War II in the South Pacific. He married Odeth Iola Huffman on Oct 1, 1950 in North Platte and she survives at the home. He was a Master Mason of Zion No 234 of Hyannis, a member of the Tri State Cowboys and attended St Paul's Episcopal church of Ogallala. Bob recently retired from the ranch and the family moved to Ogallala. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Doris Loree Dykes, Nancy Mardel Dykes, and Mrs David (Eloise Marlea) Frickson; a son, David Clay Dykes, all of Ogallala; five sisters, Mrs Dean (Oda) Cullom of Cody, Mrs Earl (Ola Mae) Grote of Harrison, Mrs Ray (Lora Lee) Reed of Seattle, Wash., Mrs Norman (Dorothy) Curtis of Price, Utah, and Mrs Milton (Ava Kay) Wilson of Morrill; four brothers, Roy of Cheyenne Wyo., Dale of Scottsbluff, Lauren of Royal City, Wash. and Delbert of Powell, Wyo.; and a grandson, Robert Richard Frickson of Ogallala. The Rev. Paul Crowell officiated the service and the burial was at the Arthur Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Paks Sheltered Workshop or St Paul's Episcopal Church in Ogallala. The Draucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
