Description	:	Robert Lee Quick was born to Alfred J. Quick and Ruth Garwood Quick on July 23, 1929, at Bradshaw, Nebraska, and he passed away February 13, 1991, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva at the age of 61 years, six months and 21 days. He was one of six children in the family. Bob was baptized in Bradshaw shortly after his birth. The family moved to Fairmont where Bob attended school and graduated in 1948. He was one of six children in the family. Bob was baptized in Bradshaw shortly after his birth. The family moved to Fairmont where Bob attended school and graduated in 1948. Bob entered the Army in November of 1951. He was honorably discharged from the service in October of 1953. Bob was married to Dorothy Louise Smith on September 28, 1953, at a Chapel in the Territory of Alaska. This union was blessed with two sons, Allen and Mark. After his discharge from the service, Bob and Dorothy moved back to Fairmont, where he farmed with his father until 1956. He was then employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad. He retired in August of 1990. Bob was recognized and received an award from the railroad for serving for over 35 years without a lost work day. He was an active member of the Fairmont American Legion Post 21, the Honor Guard, the IOOF Lodge and the Tractor Pull association. He was a kind and helpful man to everyone in the community. In his leisure time he enjoyed his garden and his flowers. But his pride and joy were his family . He will be remembered and missed by all. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Quick. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sons, Staff Sergeant Allen Quick and wife Debra of Fort Campbell, Ky., and Mark Quick and wife, Martina of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew; mother, Ruth Quick of Geneva; three brothers, John Quick of Omaha, Richard and James Quick, both of Geneva; two sisters, Mrs. Harry "Donna" Rathje of York and Mrs. Donald "Deloris" Veskma of David City. funeral services were conducted from the Fairmont Community church at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 18, 1991, with the Rev. Norman Kauble officiating. Mrs. Nancy Jo Galusha accompanied Mrs. Kim Gewecke, who sang "The Old Rugged Cross," "In the Garden" and "Precious Memories." Pallbearers were Richard Smith, Del Korbelik, Robert Delaney, Charles Edwards, Francis McMahon, and Bob Hoeft, Sr. The Odd Fellows Lodge held the burial rites at the church and the Fairmont American Legion Lt. Forbes Post 21 provided military graveside services. Interment was in the Fairmont Public Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal February 21st, 1991 page 6.
