He was married to Ruth Ann Rawlins, Dec. 2, 1914, and to them were born seven children, one of whom died in infancy, (Cecil). Read More	Provided by Richard Carle: Journal--Aug.,1944, Knoxville, Iowa, ROBERT ORIN TEMPLE Robert Orin Temple, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Alva Temple, was born Oct.25, 1895, near Gosport ,IA.(Marion Co.), and died in Collins Memorial Hospital, Knoxville, Aug. 15, 1944, at the age of 48 years 9 months and 21 days. He was married to Ruth Ann Rawlins, Dec. 2, 1914, and to them were born seven children, one of whom died in infancy, (Cecil). He is survived by his wife, and 6 children, Robert Glen of Newton, John Leroy of Grinnell, Pvt . Warren Temple of the Tank Batt. Service Corps, now in Italy, Cpl. William Joseph, in the 8th Observation Batt. of the Signal corps, now in France; two daughters, Mrs. Neva Merriweather, of Baxter, Iowa, and Viola Marie at home; there are 9 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the last of his family, his parents, three brothers and one sister preceding him in death. His married life was spent in Marion Co., with the exception of four years in Minnesota, and 10 years in Kellogg, Iowa. He had been in failing health for 3 years and was seriously ill the last 2 months. He was baptized and united with the Gosport Methodist church in early manhood. He was a devoted and faithful husband and an unselfish father to his children. Efforts were made through the Red Cross to get the sons in the Army an Emergency furlough, but these failed. Funeral Services were held in the Gosport Methodist Church Thursday, Aug. 17, conducted by the Rev. B. H. Finch of Killduff. Burial was in Gosport Cemetery.
