Mr. Dickey died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1993, in Overland Park. He was born Sept. 26, 1902, in Montrose, Colo., the son of Robert Burns Dickey and Bertha Wittmaier. He moved to Lawrence in 1929. He was founder and former owner of the Robert O. Dickey Company, Inc., and was active for many years in local and national manufacturers agency associations before retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Country Club Congregational Church, past president of the Kansas chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and a member of both the Huguenot Society and the Sarasota Yacht Club. He was a Mason for more than 50 years, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite and a member of the Abdallah Shrine Temple. He lived in the Kansas City area after his retirement but spent much of his time in Sarasota, Fla., during the last 10 years. He married Flora Nell Bigsby on Nov. 12, 1930. She died Aug. 6, 1982. Survivors include his second wife, Jacqueline W. Dickey, Sarasota; two sons, D. Wendell and Gerald , both of Mission Hills; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
