He was born in Springfield, Ohio, September 28, 1907, the son of Armer and Mabel (Andrew) Harwood. Mr. Harwood was a charter member of the Northside Church of God, was employed for 16 years with Banc Ohio National Bank, and Retired from Springfield News-Sun, following 16 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Edith (McFarland) Harwood of Springfield; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Mickey Harwood of Xenia, Ohio, James and Sharon Harwood of Springfield and Gary and Sharon Harwood of New Carlisle, Ohio; two daughters and son-in-law, Nadeen and Lewis Richards and Connie Matney, all of Springfield; one sister, Marguerite Blair of Urbana, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and one grandson. Friends may call in the RICHARDS, RAFF AND DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the Northside Church of God at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Steven V. Williams officiating. Burial in Vale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northside Church of God building fund.
