He had been in ill health several years. Born Sept 25, 1869, in Page county, Iowa, he lived in that state until 1895 when he moved to Nebraska. Mr Turnbull was married March 1, 1900, to Miss Maude A Martin at Pawnee City. They established their home at Burchard. Mr Turnbull retired from farming in 1934. He was a member of the Bookwalter Methodist church; also of Blue lodge No 137, A F & A M, Burchard. Funeral services were held at the Bookwalter church Tuesday afternoon, in charge of Rev William A Albright and Rev W H Wallis. Masonic services were also held at the church. Burial was at Pawnee City. Surviving are his widow, Mrs Maude A Turnbull of Lincoln; two daughters, Mrs Mina Preston of Omaha and Mrs Marjorie Lantz of Burchard; four sons, Harold M of Bellevue, Howard G of Beatrice, Wade W of Mattoon, Ill and Willard J of Vicksburg, Miss; two sisters, Mrs Anna Yates and Miss Nettie Turnbull, both of Rockwell City, Ia; five brothers, Charles E of Gordon, Theodore of Folsom, La, Samuel C of Ardmore, S D , Archie and Harry Turnbull, both of Rockwell City; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
