Description	:	Rodney C. Robison, 69 years of age, of Pawnee City, Nebraska, peacefully passed into the arms of God at 5:55 PM on August 17th, 2011 at Pawnee County Memorial Hospital. Rodney was born on September 20, 1941, in Tecumseh, Nebraska, to Thomas C. and Ida E. (Gottula) Robison. Rodney attended grades 1-6 in Elk Creek Public Schools, District #10, Johnson County, Nebraska, then attended St. Peter's Parochial School for his 7th and 8th grade years before completing high school back at Elk Creek Public Schools in 1959. Robison, 69 years of age, of Pawnee City, Nebraska, peacefully passed into the arms of God at 5:55 PM on August 17th, 2011 at Pawnee County Memorial Hospital. Rodney was born on September 20, 1941, in Tecumseh, Nebraska, to Thomas C. and Ida E. (Gottula) Robison. Rodney attended grades 1-6 in Elk Creek Public Schools, District #10, Johnson County, Nebraska, then attended St. Peter's Parochial School for his 7th and 8th grade years before completing high school back at Elk Creek Public Schools in 1959. During his school years Rodney was active in 4-H particularly in the area of beef production and showed livestock at the Johnson County Fair, Nebraska State Fair, and Aksarben Livestock Show. He was also an excellent athlete especially in the area of track and football where he named as center of the Nemaha Valley Conference All Star Team, and received Nebraska All-State honors. Rodney attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics and Business Administration in June of 1963. To fund his education, Rodney worked on his parents' farm east of Elk Creek, Nebraska, and in northwestern Missouri, and drove a rock truck for his uncle, Ivan Gottula, while also working other jobs related to agriculture in the area. Upon graduation, Rodney was employed by the USDA Farmer's Home Administration as an Assistant County Supervisor in Alliance, Nebraska. In January of 1964 he moved back closer to the family farm and took a position as a Farm Representative at Home State Bank and Trust Company of Humboldt, NE. During that year he also obtained his real estate broker's license, which he maintained throughout his life. He married Donna Louise Rathbun, daughter of Paul V. and Zona L. Rathbun on December 29, 1963. Shortly after, the birth of their first child, Rodney Scott Robison, on November 12, 1964, Rodney took a position with the Filley Bank in Filley, Nebraska where he worked until being offered the position of County Executive Director for the USDA Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service in Chase County, Nebraska. On May 7th of 1967, a daughter, Pamela Lynn Robison, was born. While living in Imperial he became active in community affairs by becoming a member of the Jaycees. He was honored with the Outstanding Officer Award. He also accepted an invitation of the Imperial, Nebraska Chapter of the International Rotary Club. During 1971 to 1973 he was selected by the Chase County School Board to serve on the Vocational Education Committee. He later transferred to Pawnee County, Nebraska, where he began farming with his father at the family farm near Elk Creek, Nebraska. Rodney continued employment with the USDA until his retirement in 2006. After his transfer to Pawnee County, a second daughter, Traci Jane Robison was born on August 2, 1973. Rodney continued to remain active in the community and was elected to the Board of Pawnee Public Schools where he was able to hand each of his children their high school diploma. He continued to expand the family farm at this time with the addition of a commercial beef herd. Rodney's passions included anything related to agriculture, including an extensive library of implement pamphlets and catalogs dating back to the 1950's. He also enjoyed traveling, nature, history, and was studious in the area of financial and commodity investment. Above all, the cornerstone of Rodney's joy was built upon his relationship with our Lord, as evidenced, in part, through his investment in people. Rarely would he return from an outing without sharing a story of someone he met along the way. He made a point to know people on a first name basis and take an active interest in their lives. Attending his grandchildren's sporting events and activities was of paramount importance to Rodney in his later years. He enjoyed watching Brittany and Jordan mature and excel in their activities. Rodney is survived by his three children, son R. Scott Robison of Elk Creek, Nebraska; daughters Pamela Williams and husband Walter of Columbus, Nebraska, and Traci Robison and husband James Sullivan of Lincoln, Nebraska; granddaughter Brittany Williams of Kansas City, Missouri, and grandson Jordan Williams of Council Bluffs, IA; sister Jane Victoria Gobber and husband Robert of Gretna, Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ida Robison and younger brother Reginald Robison of Elk Creek, Nebraska. Funeral Services 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 22, 2011 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Elk Creek, Nebraska. Officiating Pastor Bryan Gies. Visitation Sunday, August 21, 2011 from Noon to 8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery, Elk Creek, Nebraska. Memorials to family choice.
