Description	:	(KS) Belleville Telescope April 24, 1958 Rodney Merritt Dovel, son of William and Fannie Dovel, was born on a farm near Munden, Kan., March 24, 1900, and passed away April 9, 1958, in Deming N. M., at the age of 58 years and 16 days. In the fall of 1918 he moved with his parents into Munden. On November 19, 1921, he was united in marriage to Cora Hiner and this union was blessed with one daughter, Cleta. Read More	(KS) Belleville Telescope April 24, 1958 Rodney Merritt Dovel, son of William and Fannie Dovel, was born on a farm near Munden, Kan., March 24, 1900, and passed away April 9, 1958, in Deming N. M., at the age of 58 years and 16 days. In the fall of 1918 he moved with his parents into Munden. On November 19, 1921, he was united in marriage to Cora Hiner and this union was blessed with one daughter, Cleta. They lived in and around Munden until 1944 when they moved to Scandia where they lived for one year, then moved back to Munden where they lived until 1949, then back to Scandia where they lived until June 1957, when they moved to Deming, N. M., to be near their daughter. He was converted and joined the Munden Methodist church on February 13, 1921, and transferred his membership to the Scandia Methodist church in 1954 and recently transferred to the Deming Methodist church. He had great faith in God to help and sustain him through a long illness in which he suffered great pain, but through it all he never complained. He was an employee of the Rock Island Railroad 28 years and a member of the Munden Lodge No. 128 A.F. & A.M. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, a good neighbor and a true friend to all. He is survived by his wife, Cora, one daughter, Mrs. Martin Merrill, one son-in-law Martin Merrill, and one grand-daughter, all of Deming N. M.; one sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Dejmal of Narka, several nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church in Munden April 13, 1958, at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Donald O'Hara officiating. Masonic service was conducted by Munden Lodge No. 128 A.F. & A.M. at the grave in Ida cemetery.
