Roger Eugene Nicholas was born October 29, 1931 in Miller to Raleigh and Dollie (Walton) Nicholas. He grew up and attended school in Miller. He entered the United States Army in 1953, serving two years in Korea. On August 15, 1956, he married Erla Arbogast in Miller. Roger Eugene Nicholas was born October 29, 1931 in Miller to Raleigh and Dollie (Walton) Nicholas. He grew up and attended school in Miller. He entered the United States Army in 1953, serving two years in Korea. On August 15, 1956, he married Erla Arbogast in Miller. They moved to Missoula, Mont. where he worked for a sawmill for 12 years. They also lived in Spearfish for one and a half years where he worked at Boyd's Hat Manufacturing. In the late 1960s, they returned to Miller. Survivors include his wife, Erla of Miller; one son, Randy (Jeanette) of Belle Fourche; two daughters, Debbra (Dave) Olson of Sheridan, Wyoming, Lanett (Brad) Buche of Mitchell; six grandchildren, Trevor and Bryce Nicholas, Ryan and Kolbi Olson, Mallory and Rachel Buche; one brother, Glen (Susie) Nicholas of Blunt; four sisters, Ruth (Elwood) Capelle of Phoenix, Arizona, Marjorie (Walt) Balliet of Rapid City, Mavis Coutoure of Mobridge and Donna (Jim) Spiry of Glenham; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Roy, Loyd and Clarence; and one sister, Vera Williams. - - - - Funeral: May 23, 2001 - First Presbyterian Church in Miller. Officiating: Rev.
