Description	:	Roger Louis Moderow, the son of Erwin and Emilie (Weymouth) Moderow, was born in Polk, Nebraska, on June 29, 1929, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska, on September 12, 1994, at the age of 65 years, 2 months, and 13 days. He received his education at the Polk Emmanual Lutheran School, Aurora Public School, Hampton St. Peter Lutheran School, and graduated from Hampton Public School in 1947. Read More	Roger Louis Moderow, the son of Erwin and Emilie (Weymouth) Moderow, was born in Polk, Nebraska, on June 29, 1929, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska, on September 12, 1994, at the age of 65 years, 2 months, and 13 days. He received his education at the Polk Emmanual Lutheran School, Aurora Public School, Hampton St. Peter Lutheran School, and graduated from Hampton Public School in 1947. He served his country during World War 2 and the Korean War, from July of 1948 until July of 1952. On March 24, 1953, he was united in marriage to Joan Carman of Central City at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Central City. They lived in Grand Island and Rockford, Illinois, and in 1956 they moved back to Marquette, after his father's death, to take over the Moderow Laundry and Dry Cleaning route, and operated it from 1956 until 1982, when he retired because of ill health. Roger was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Central City, and was a past member of the Board of Education, the Finance Board and also was a Sunday School teacher. He was also a member of the V.F.W. and a past member of the Marquette Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Eugene and Hillard. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Joan of Marquette, 2 sons, Michael and his wife Kathy of Aurora, And Russell of Lincoln, a daughter Christy Archer and her husband Don of Marquette, 4 brothers, Leroy of Addisson, Illinois, Melbourne and Willis, both of Marquette, and Kenneth of Grand Island; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
