Description	:	Mr. Roger Mullinix Burdette, 84, of Germantown, MD died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Montgomery Village Health Care Center. He was husband to the Lois Marie Sutphin Burdette, who passed on March 20, 2011, his wife of 40 years. He was born June 6, 1929 in Damascus, a son of the late Paul Lester and Bertha Olivia Mullinix Burdette. Roger was a dairy farmer for his entire life. Read More	Mr. Roger Mullinix Burdette, 84, of Germantown, MD died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Montgomery Village Health Care Center. He was husband to the Lois Marie Sutphin Burdette, who passed on March 20, 2011, his wife of 40 years. He was born June 6, 1929 in Damascus, a son of the late Paul Lester and Bertha Olivia Mullinix Burdette. Roger was a dairy farmer for his entire life. He was a member for over 50 years of the Maryland Virginia Milk Producers Association; the Maryland Farm Bureau for over 55 years; and the Germantown Baptist Church for over 70 years. Roger enjoyed attending his church, orating great stories and jokes, and patronizing his favorite restaurants. Roger is survived by his three sons: Roger Leon "Jack" Burdette and wife Susan of Frederick; Douglas Edwin Burdette and wife Cathy; and Dennis "Denny" Gregory Burdette of Clarksburg; and Lois' two children: Irene Mills and Stanford Sutphin and their families. His blended family includes 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Lois and her 2 children: Judy Martens Poole and James Michael "Mike" Sutphin; his first wife Harriet Isabelle Doody Burdette; brother Paul D. Burdette; half- brothers William U. Waters and Edwin R. Waters and half-sister Elizabeth F. Waters. Friends may call 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday, February 23, at Molesworth Williams P.A., Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872. Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 24, at Germantown Baptist Church, 17640 Riffleford Road, Germantown, Maryland 20874, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m.. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville, Maryland at a later date.
