Description	:	Roland C. Snyder, Sr., 90, of Bridgeport, WV, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility in Clarksburg, WV. He was born September 3, 1921 in Westminster, MD, a son of the late Sterling Lee Snyder and Grace Yingling Snyder. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Helen Gilbert Snyder. Read More	Roland C. Snyder, Sr., 90, of Bridgeport, WV, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility in Clarksburg, WV. He was born September 3, 1921 in Westminster, MD, a son of the late Sterling Lee Snyder and Grace Yingling Snyder. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Helen Gilbert Snyder. He is also survived by three sons, Roland Snyder, Jr. and his wife Patti, of Geneva, IL; Robert Snyder and his wife Pamela of Salem, WV; James Snyder and his wife Wanda of Hanover, PA; one daughter Christine MacKenzie and her husband Scott of Albright, WV; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a nephew, H. Lee Spencer, Cape Coral, FL. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one sister, Helen Snyder Spencer Washburn. He was a 1938 graduate of Westminster High School; he then attended Baltimore Business College, graduating in April, 1939. Following graduation, he joined the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company. In 1942, Roland Joined the US Army attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant serving as Chief Clerk with the Post Judge Advocate's office at Camp Pickett, VA until 1945. Upon resuming civilian life, he returned to Baltimore Gas and Electric for 41 years. Roland also prepared tax returns for many local individuals and businesses. He was a 70 year member of Grace Lutheran Church in Westminster, MD. At home, he enjoyed being with family and friends, gardening, and held a lifelong interest in genealogy.
