Born near Westminster, he was the son of the late Lee Andrew and Laura Grosse Snyder. Until his retirement in 1964, he was co-owner of the Burall and Snyder Service Station. Snyder, 77, of Westminster, died Wednesday evening at an area hospital following a brief illness. Born near Westminster, he was the son of the late Lee Andrew and Laura Grosse Snyder. Until his retirement in 1964, he was co-owner of the Burall and Snyder Service Station. He was a lifelong member of St. John's (Leister's) Church, Westminster, and a member of North Carroll Rod and Gun Club and the National Rifle Association. He also was a member of Door to Virtue Masonic Lodge No. 46 A.F. and A.M., the Chesapeake Consistory, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, the Bee Hive Club, Western Maryland Shrine Club, Carroll Commandery No. 17 Knights Tempter, Carroll Loyal Arch Chapter No. 31, Carroll Council No. 7 Royal Select Masters of Maryland and Boumi Temple. He was a 50- year life member of the Supreme Lodge Knights of Pythias and the Fraternal Order of Police. Surviving are his wife, Grace Yingling Snyder; a son, Roland C. Snyder of Westminster a daughter; Mrs. Helen D. Spencer of Westminster six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Thomas D. Fletcher and Son Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St. Westminster. The Rev. Albert A. Makolin, his pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Jdtm's (Leister's) Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. His pallbearers will be Lee Spencer, Roland Snyder Jr., Robert Snyder, James Snyder, Scott Helm, Charles Doan, Dennis Boylan and Elmer Doan. The Door to Virtue Masonic Lodge will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home Friday at 8 p.m.
