Ronald was born on March 9, 1937, in Clark, S.D., to Leona Clausen. He was raised by his grandparents Ernest and Emma Clausen. He attended school in Clark. He married Dianna Hagstrom on June 8, 1957, in Doland. He worked construction, then at the Chevy Garage in Redfield until he purchased his own business, Clausen Dray Service, and worked until he retired in 1997. He worked construction through the summers until he became ill. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, hunting, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, bowling and fast pitch softball. He and Dianna wintered in Florida, Texas and Arizona for the past seven winters. Ron is survived by his wife, Dianna of Redfield, S.D., and nine children: Rhonda (Les) Hintz of Hazen, N.D., Debbie (Darvin) Dickhaut, Vicky (Scott) Haskell, Kay (Jeff) O'Daniel, Darla (Rob) Severance, Gene (Darla) Clausen, all of Redfield, S.D., Dawn (Mike) Grubb of Great Falls, Mont., Bobby Jo Clausen of Hopkins, Minn., Billie Jo (Jay) Groskreutz also of Great Falls, Mont. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren and one more great-grandchild due in January. He is also survived by his siblings: Val (Bob) Drake, Evelyn (John) Garcia, Ed (Bev) Clausen, Dale "Spec" (Connie) Clausen, Sharon (Ron) Bauer and Dick Dunbar and Susan Dewitt. Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents and five brothers and two sisters. Published in the Aberdeen News on 12/28/2005.
