Tuesday, July 5th, at the Rhodes United Methodist Church with Pastor's Keith McDonald and Ron Bryan, both friends of the family officiating. Born on October 28th, 1936, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Wayne and Helen (Winslow) Crouse. He graduated from Conrad High School's Class of 1955. On New Years Day of 1959, he was united in marriage to Elaine Freland at the Rhodes United Methodist Church. They made their home in Marshalltown and later south of Marshalltown on their acreage for the past 40 years. Ron was employed with Arbie Feeds for 30 years and was also a greeter at Wal-Mart. He is a member of the Rhodes United Methodist Church. Ron, aka "stick shifter"- his CB handle, will be fondly remembered for his love of family, devotion to his wife, passion for truck driving, his sense of humor and laughing, doing word puzzles and playing cards, family get-togethers (especially Christmas) and his cats, Toot-Toot and Cissy. He knew few strangers and will be missed by many. Left to mourn his loss are his loving wife of 46 years, Elaine, four children: Lowell (Jackie) Crouse (children Justin, Jacob and Lanie) of Maxwell, Iowa, Shelley Gilgen (daughter Rebecca) of Marshalltown, Lenny (Kim) Crouse (children Luke, Lindsay and Karley) of Peosta, Iowa and Shawn (Melissa) Crouse (children Olivia and Cooper) of West Des Moines, his mother Helen of Conrad, his twin brother Don (Elaine) Crouse of Dillon, brother Stanley (Sharon Kay) Crouse of Grand Blanc, Michigan and sister Sharon (Toby) Brimmer of Marshalltown as well as nieces, nephews, his cats and a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his father, Wayne, Mother in-law and Father in-law Lillian and Steve Freland.
