Description	:	Ronald "Ron" F. Stewart passed away on April 1, 2017 in Fort Myers, Florida at the age of 90. He was born on July 13, 1926 in Rouses Point, New York to his parents Attorney Francis J. and Dorothy (Krell) Stewart. He was the husband of the late Janet E. (Phinney) Stewart. Ronald attended Utica College to later honorably serve in the United States Navy. After the Navy, he made a career as a Service Coordinator at the Colonial Gas Company in S. Yarmouth, MA. Stewart passed away on April 1, 2017 in Fort Myers, Florida at the age of 90. He was born on July 13, 1926 in Rouses Point, New York to his parents Attorney Francis J. and Dorothy (Krell) Stewart. He was the husband of the late Janet E. (Phinney) Stewart. Ronald attended Utica College to later honorably serve in the United States Navy. Ronald is survived by his four children and their spouses: Saundra and Ed Lambert of Centerville, Scot and Lisa Stewart of Mashpee, Mark and Chrissy Stewart of Great Barrington, and Sheldon and Salijane Stewart of Centerville, as well as his sister Ruth Miller of Roanoke, VA. He was a beloved grandfather to ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He is preceded by his two brothers Richard "Rit" Stewart and Rodney W. Stewart of Dolgeville, NY. Ron split his retired years between his farm in Canisteo, NY and his condo in beautiful Fort Myers, FL. He not only enjoyed hunting with friends and relishing the simplicities of cabin life, but also making new friends and being a notable member of his community. His smile, laugh, friendship and love for family are few of many wonderful qualities he shared with all who surrounded him. Throughout the years, he made lifetime friends who shared charming memories of him at the Landings Yacht Club where he was better known as "Captn' Ron". He will surely be missed by everyone who he has touched over his lifetime. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 19th, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Saint Francis Xavier Cemetery, Pine St. Centerville, MA. Published in The Corning Leader on May 6, 2017
